Located in Oxnard, California, these retail buildings are nestled in the SeaBridge Marina community along the Channel Islands Harbor. The project scope includes construction of two wood-framed, two-story high-end retail buildings on a five-acre site that includes approximately 500 feet of waterfront development. The buildings are unique in that they are all “double-loaded” storefronts (i.e., each suite has a storefront facing the harbor and one facing the parking area), which provides many spaces with true “see-through” facades.
The main challenge to construction of the project stemmed from the very restrictive Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP) precautions that were implemented to protect the harbor facility and the sea life that call it home from any harmful run-off during construction that extended over a very soggy winter season.
