Lakeview Elementary School Multipurpose Building is the construction of a new 9,800 sf Insulated Concrete Formwork Multipurpose Building. This project is unique considering there are only a handful of school buildings constructed with this engineering in California. Additionally, this project includes administrative offices, preparation kitchen, gym/multi-use area inclusive of basketball courts, bleachers, performance stage, and an audio/visual system.
The site construction involved demolishing existing paving, building slab, foundations, and lunch shelter in order to proceed with improving the exterior of the established school. New site construction included installing a CMU retaining wall, 2,700 sf steel lunch shelter, and additional parking areas.
Working on an operating school site and its existing conditions has proved to be a challenge that we can handle with proper coordination and collaboration. The project’s anticipated completion date was October 31, 2011; Lusardi successfully completed the project a month sooner than expected. In addition to completing the project in good time, we also reached our goal of integrating a newly constructed building and associated systems with an existing dated school.
