The brand new Skilled Nursing Facility consists of 99 patient beds and 50 patient rooms. The facility contains dining areas, kitchen, rehabilitation areas, activity areas, and outdoor enclosed courtyards. The (3) separate buildings connected by pedestrian bridges inherently provides outdoor courtyards that allow for natural light and continuous lines of sight from different areas of the buildings.
The single story 45,000 square foot building was built using prefabricated wood trusses constructed office and craned into place. The exterior consists of plaster with a tile roof. OSHPD regulated project that required California Department of Public Health certification to treat patients.
The project was completed on schedule. However there were many challenges with plans and specifications being permitted to the 1998 building codes. OSHPD inspected the project to the 1998 building codes which posed many obstacles as Lusardi was constructing the project in 2018-2020. This caused issues which lead to delays from redesign, construction revisions, and coordination meetings.
